we are going on a vacation
The little man has become the drama queen. Or king. He yells at every opportunity. He screams at every chance he gets. He cries at the drop of a hat. Well, not literally. But he has been misbehaving lately. He is being spoiled and not in a good way. It is upsetting to see him throw tantrums and treat us like servants but we are hoping this phase will go away soon. He is growing up, see? He knows there are things he can do and make us do. All he needs is push the right button. We try to be understanding and patient with him. It is not easy but we have to. It would have been easier to just whack him in the behind but we do not think it will make things better. So we leave him alone when he starts his fits. The husband said maybe it has something to do with being coped up in the house all winter. We are not used to it because winters in the South (where we used to live) was not bad so we got out and let him walk or run every chance we had. We never did that here. And it is hard for an active four years old to be sedentary at home. Hence, the mischief and the tantrums. The husband has been planning for us to go on vacation. He thinks a change in scenery will probably do us all good. So we are thinking of going to the beach for a week. We have not decided where to go. The choices are Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina. We have never been to North Carolina so I am betting that is where we will go. If we are doing a change in scenery thing then this is the best bet. So I have been looking at Outer Banks oceanfront properties that are for rent for tourists. Hopefully I will find a good deal because we do not want to spend a lot of money. We just want to get away for a short while and see if it will make a difference in the little man's behavior. The change might be good for us adults too. We will see.
