goodies in a box
We sent a balikbayan box for our family in PI. We made sure most of the things they asked for is in the box. Including even the stuff we think they need even if they did not ask for it. We want them to have lots of presents for the coming Christmas. Most of the items in the box are for my parents- perfume, clothes, canned goods, and some knick knacks. I bought them four tubs of their favorite brand of body cream. It may not be as expensive as the best wrinkle cream but we hope they will like it. After all, it is the thought that counts right? Perhaps next year we will buy the wrinkle creams which my aunts prefer. They do have expensive taste, lol. We hope they will like the items in the box though.

it feels weird
It is kinda quite in here right now. The little man went to bed early since we woke him up early this morning. It feels weird, to be honest. We are used to having him around until bed time that it feels different without him making funny noises and doing everything to get our attention. I am actually at a loss on what to do since it is still hours before our bed time so I am here telling everybody who is interested enough to read what I am feeling. The husband is here wondering what to do either, lol. We often complain about not having enough time together anymore yet here were not knowing what to do with our time when we are actually alone. We are a crazy pair, huh? We might just go to bed early :)

replacement
The stepson has a Sebring convertible which his father bought for him. It basically has new parts since the latter bought and fixed everything before he gave it to his son. After almost two years though his son is complaining about its air-conditioner not working some times. It is a shame too since it happened when the husband could not do anything to help his son. We might just bring it to a friend who is a mechanic and maybe he will be able to fix it. They can then order and get Mopar performance parts for his vehicle. If the husband was able he probably could just buy a part from a used car lot but then they could not take a chance of having the AC quit working again so they need something that will last for a long time. Good thing it happened when it is not too hot anymore or else he would bake in his car while driving down the road. Not a pretty thought.

little photographer
Somebody got hold of my digital camera, ran under his little tent and took lots of pictures. Can you tell who it is? Lol. Our little terror apparently wanted some pictures so he swiped the camera and went a-clicking. Sadly there was nothing but views of his leg and the carpet. I will teach him how to do self-portraits next time :)

boxes and boxes
We have moving boxes stashed in the little man's closet. It was hidden from his view for a long time until recently when we started boxing up stuff we do not use often. He knew where the boxes are and he never left them alone after that. He wants to get one out and play with it and when he gets tired of it he wants to get another box. It always ends up in an argument between me and him because I am not fond of getting a box taller and wider than me in and out of a small closet. The husband says to give in to his son. Easy for him to say since he is not the one who has to do all the hard work. I guess it is fine if the boxes have designs pleasing to the eye because I can just pretend I am looking at a cardboard display but it is brown and dull looking. I went ahead and transferred most of the boxes somewhere he (and his father) will not even think of looking. Of course I will have to tell the husband when it is time for us to move since we do need the boxes for our clothes and other things that need to be boxed up.

techie?
The little man is now good with navigating sites on the internet. When he gets bored with his game he opens windows and types in gibberish on the search bar which actually give him options. Crazy isn't it? He opens so many windows all at once that he makes the computer stall. He is using a one gig laptop which has been reformatted so it is sure to happen. Anyway, I always watch him while he does that and he ends up basically everywhere online from Yahoo messenger video tutorials (which is his favorite he memorized the link already), to videos of old songs on Youtube, to vacations destinations such as Hawaii and Oahu hotels, pages that I bookmarked, and goes on different search engines. Luckily he has not been to any porn site that I know of. Maybe because the computer stalls before he can open any more window. When it does he lives it alone and I turn the computer off and he resumes playing with his blocks to make words. He is a busybody. I have to start hiding the computer from him before he opens something he is not supposed to. His father is happy knowing he is learning though and he said as long as I am watching what he is doing I should be able to stop him if he does accidentally gets into anything nasty.
sick
The little man is sick with the cold. I heard him cough last night and I thought it was going to be bad. Sure enough it gets bad today. He has stuffy nose and has difficulty breathing. I rubbed his back with Vicks and hope he will feel better. I hope I will not get sick but I doubt it. I am feeling sore all over anymore and I feel cold. I wonder if flu shots are available yet, it may be time to have shots in preparation for the coming cold season.

moving again
We are going to move out of the duplex soon. We made up our minds and this time I think it is for good. There are a lot of things we considered and paying a lot of money on electric is one of them. We hope to be able to find an energy efficient apartment or house. That is why we are already searching. We thought about moving back to the Midwest but we have things to settle here so we will stay for as long as we can. Thankfully we don't have that far to move. Yes, we have decided on a specific city. Since it is near where we are at right now, I don't have to look for cross country moving companies nor do I have to worry about the impending trip. I am actually looking forward to it. This is really exciting! I hope the new place will be child friendly. Maybe we can even let the little man play outside when the weather permits.

wish list or demand?
The husband promised to get me a treadmill should we have the money to buy for one. I have been whining about not being able to brisk walk anymore and he said to be patient since he will definitely get a treadmill so I can either walk or run without leaving the house. It does sound like a very good idea. My weight at the moment is like a yo-yo, it goes up and down and it is making me sick anymore. I want to trim up and keep it that way and the best way to do that is to do some walking which helped me lost a lot of weight right after I gave birth. To be honest, I am a few pounds heavier now than two months after I had the little man. Hopefully the husband will follow through with his promise and really buy me a treadmill. That will be a very nice birthday gift instead of eating out. I will not whine about eating out as long as he will get me my wish. Demanding? You bet I am! I cannot gain more weight because it means buying clothes a size bigger. We will see in a few months.

tight spot
This is what usually happens when I sit in front of my laptop. I don't know why I have to deal with all these toys when all I really want to do is surf the internet. It must be a reminder that I am not supposed to stay more than necessary online. There is a designated parking area in the living room for all the little man's trucks and cars yet somehow a few ends up wherever my computer is parked.

computer wiz?
Since the little man knew how to play an educational game on my computer he thinks he owns it. He does let me use the computer when I have to but only for a short while. Although he does not stay in it longer than what he is supposed to he still has to make sure that nobody is using it. Anyway, learning to play games and knowing that all he has to do is click the icons and a whole new world opens for him, he is experimenting. I told him not to do things like that when I am not with him but he still tries to. The result? The computer stalls. With a hundred windows open what computer wouldn't? It ranges from the Yahoo homepage to messenger to finance to the latest news and a lot of other things. Sometimes he even types words and letters on the search bar that I will not be surprised if he ends up with key man insurance on the results page. He is inquisitive and resourceful to say the least. But when the computer stalls he runs to his father and says it happened again which means he made the computer stall. That also means he has to stop with his game until Mama tells him it is okay to resume which happens the next day, lol. He is learning though and as long as we get it through his head that he can only open sites we agree on then we think he will be fine. The good thing about this online game is that he never watches television shows anymore. He apparently thinks it is too much. Or maybe the game is enough.

I broke arm!
This was said with so much feelings that I thought it was true. I was online when the little man came up to me saying he broke his arm. I asked him what happened but he kept on repeating "I broke arm!" I looked and thankfully he was not hurt. I don't know why he thought his arm was broken. It might just be sore. He did let me rub his arm which is unusual since he is very ticklish. A few hours later I heard him tell his dad about his broken arm. A lecture about broken arms ensued after that. I don't know if the little man believed what his father said but it might have worked since I have not heard I broke arm again.
