mustache?
While I was at the store earlier I found a sketch pad and thought of the little man. He loves to scribble nonsense on paper so I decided to buy him the pad and a pack of washable markers as well. I thought it would be a good idea to give him the pad and a marker to play with while him and his father wait for me in the car while I did our grocery shopping. He was so happy when I handed him the present and started scribbling right away. I told him it was fine to play with it so long as he does not put the marker in his mouth. No sooner than I said the words and he had the blasted thing in his face. There was a dark line in his lip, his face and his hands. There was no time to clean him since we were on the second store to get our groceries so I strapped him in the shopping cart and off we went. A few people noticed his face and they commented that somebody got a hold of a marker and laughed at how funny he looked. He did look cute albeit a bit untidy. Thankfully the markers like what I said were washable so it came off easily when we got home. I am thinking of a substitute for the markers. Something that will not leave very visible marks but I am not familiar with things like that. If you can tell me what to get which should work good with the sketch pad I will be grateful. If nothing else I will just get him a pencil.

about travel insurance
A friend just came back from her vacation. She had an awful time at the airport in her vacation destination. There were problems that if not for some kindhearted people she would have to wait a long time to be able to get out. Her experience makes me think of the benefit of getting international travel insurance to cover for unexpected contingencies when traveling. I may have to look on it when we are certain we will go on vacation to visit my parents. It is nice to be prepared sometimes. Although sometimes we can't stop problems from popping up.
camping
One of my sisters-in-law said she will come down to visit us this summer. It is not clear who will go with her but I am sure someone will. She said she wants to camp on the beach. I don't know if there is a camping ground near us though. The only place I know with camping grounds is Myrtle Beach. You can either do tent or rv camping with all the amenities present. We have not tried camping yet but we visited the site which is on the beach itself. The husband said we will go with his sister but I don't know if I will be up to it. I am the motel type of person. I hate cleaning up after myself that's why. But it won't hurt to try.
water baby
Water baby. That is how the husband calls his son. It can be freezing outside but if there is a body of water even if it is only a puddle, he will take his chance of being scolded and runs straight to it. We have been having problems walking on the beach because he gets in the water all the time so we decided to give in to his want and let him play for hours. Good thing it was warm today so I did not worry about him getting a cold. We thought once he had his fill he will be good and not scream bloody murder when it was time to go. Well, we thought wrong. He kicked and screamed all the way to the shower but it was not as bad as the previous episodes so I guess it was still worth the effort :) We will try to do this as often as possible and hope that he will get tired of being in the water and will eventually be good so we can do our usual walks while his father looks on. As usual, we are keeping our fingers crossed.

know the answer
Once upon a time in the not so distant past, I was bent on buying diet pills. It is because I know I am gaining weight quicker than normal. And too because a friend said she is using it and it looks like it works on her since she does not look like she already has a kid. Unlike me. So on my quest to know the answer, I searched online for diet pill reviews. I was not going to buy anything without further knowledge about the pills. I had to know the price (this was important), where to get it, if it really works, and of course I have to know if it will not have any harmful effects on me. It has been months, probably a year, but I have not bought anything. I am not ready to spend money yet so I decided to do it the natural way, exercise and cutting back on food intake. I have done this before but I could not help salivating over fast food. Now is a different story. I am ready (I think). I hope this will work.
child-proof?
As part of child-proofing our place, we bought plastic knobs so the little man will not be able to get in the closet, the bathroom, or even try to slip outside without our notice. It proved to be effective for a long time since even if he knows how to get it open it does take time and effort on his part. Besides, he knows the knobs will be back after he took it off anyway. Recently though he had been using the plastic knobs against us. When we are taking naps and he does not want to, we allow him to play in his room provided the doors are open so we can hear him. Well, he reaches for the door knob and closes it shut much to his father's dismay. He tried to lock us in our room using the knobs that we installed in the first place. I must admit it is pretty smart for him to figure that out, especially when his father has a hard time opening doors and threatens to throw the plastic knobs in the trash, lol. As long as it is working though I will try to keep it for my piece of mind. And for my little boy's safety.

pull your breeches up
When the sister in law was here, she helped me take care of the little man. She kept an eye on him especially when we were out in public because the little man is always a handful. The little man's pants was riding low then when I told him to pull his pants up which she jokingly said pull your breeches up young man. She said that was how their mother used to say to them when they were kids. Instead of saying pants she said breeches instead. I guess it had something to do with their mom growing up in farm but I think it was cute and not too overly used. I stick to pants though so as not to confuse the little man. I still have to hear the husband say the word :)

bubbles, i yike it!
The little man was watching Nick Jr. when there was a commercial which showed bubbles and he looked at me and said, Bubbles, I yike it! He knows there are a few bottles of bubbles I hid in one of the closets. He is not allowed to play with it because he sometimes sucks his thumb and fingers and it is not safe for him. Besides it is kinda messy. I looked at him and asked, is that so? And he smiled. Well, that melted my resolve not to let him play with it so I got a bottle of bubbles and played with him. He was giggling trying to catch the bubbles and I was laughing at how silly we looked. We did have a good time and like my boy said, I yike the bubbles as well. It reminds me of my childhood only what I used was Mamsy's detergent which resulted to scoldings because she needs the detergents to wash the laundry and there was almost nothing left when I was done playing, lol. Those were the days. I will try to let him play more and quit worrying.

wide hips?
The husband told me the other day that my hip was getting wider. He claimed he was shocked when he saw it, lol. How he just realized I am getting wider, beats me. I have been complaining to him about gaining weight but it seemed like he thinks I am just fishing for compliment. Well, he does not seem to like it to which I told him he has to get used to it because I actually like my hips to be wider, lol. My hips have always been narrow since I was a teenager that I envy girls with wide hips and now that I am achieving it the husband may not be all for it. Tough for him, huh? I am not worried about my hips at all. It is my tummy area I am worried about because of all the sagging skin and fat. I can't wear tight fitting shirts anymore because it bulges on all the wrong places. I told him I am ready to take appetite suppressants so I will not eat too much but he said he does not think it is the best solution. He wants me to exercise! Waahh! It is a lot of hard work. Why can't I just do the easy way out? I have better be good at convincing so I will get to keep my hips and at the same time take something to help me to not overeat.

poway
Instead of calling me Mama or mom, my son calls me Poway instead. It is his father's fault, lol. He taught the little man my nick name which is Poray and now the obnoxious little boy calls me Poway all the time. It is cute to hear him say the word and I laughed the first time I heard it. I know my parents will be annoyed at me for letting my son call me like this but the husband and I are not traditionalist. We will let our kids call us whatever they want to as long as they are comfortable with it. It is against my parent's and other people's belief but it is our life and so we make the decisions. Although I am still hoping he will call me Mama. Perhaps when he is ready :)
