These were the during and after pictures. Hubby claims that his son looks more like my mother and brother (they have the same profile) now. I don't think he is very happy with that because when bubby's hair was longer people used to look at him and say he looks just like his dada.

haircut

We cut bubby's hair today. I told hubby to cut bubby's hair really short and he did and it looks so cute. He can't help to keep on looking at bubby and laughing at the same time. I know that as much as hubby wants to cut his boy's hair he doesn't want to cut it too short. But I want it neat and stay short for a while and the only way to do it is to use the clipper. Bubby's ears are more prominent now and he looks more filipino. I will post pictures when my cam's battery is finished charging.

quilts

I have been looking online for beddings so we can have, if possible, a few new sets to use. It is nice to sleep on a pretty beddings. Specially when it is a quilt. My husband likes quilted beddings. I think it has something to do with him using a quilt cover when he was growing up courtesy of his mother. From what I heard she was pretty good at it too. I made him look at different Victorian heart quilts at the Curtain Shop and he said the ones shown in there are really nice. I agree with him. The quilt beddings are really precious. I wouldn't mind sleeping in one. Correction, I would love us to sleep on one. With the decent prices they offer on a set I don't see why anybody would hesitate to buy from them. bug bites

My boy has a few bug bites in his legs. I don't know where he got it from. I was shocked when I saw his legs and realized that the redness in it may have been caused by a bug or bugs. I looked everywhere for bugs or where he might got it from but I couldn't see any. As usual hubby isn't very happy about it but I can't do anything else but made sure it won't happen again. Not knowing where it happened though is a bit of a problem. So I started dusting everywhere to make sure. Gotta make sure whatever bit him won't be able to do it again. I hate to see his legs like that. If I'd found a bug earlier it would be smashed like crazy it wouldn't know what hit it.

immunization appointment

Called the health department today for my bubby's immunization appointment. We don't go to his doctor anymore because it costs a lot while it is free at the health clinic. My boy will have his immunization next month which means it is time to get out the Tylenol or ibuprofen.
He was supposed to have immunization last month but he got sick and we waited until we think he is well enough before I made an appointment for him. We should be set for next month. Hopefully.

The promised video I took from last Saturday. Bubby was being silly so I decided to capture it on film. We like it that he loves the water. He is not a bit afraid of it even when the waves come in succession. He actually loves to tease the waves. Hope you enjoy watching a video of our water baby.

Growing up I have heard about Cher and her songs. Who doesn't like Believe and danced to it? I did. I like her as a performer because even with her age she is still good. Better than most new performers actually and that is a fact I think nobody would dare refute. This is evident of all the awards she got from music, television and film. She is a total performer. Being listed in Guinness World Records as the only female recording artist to have Top 10 hits in every decade of her career is one tough act to follow. One of my wishes is to see her perform live. I don't know if it is going to happen but I am still hoping. Maybe some day. I still have to save up my money so I can be in first row when it happens. Hey, when you dream you dream big. Which reminds me she will be performing at the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. This would have been the perfect time to go and see her live in action. I am supposed to post a video in this blog today of the few that I took last Saturday when we went to the beach. But I just remembered that my digital cam is in the car that hubby drives to work. I was thinking of getting it out of the glove box but I forgot. When he gets home later today I will try to upload the pictures and videos so I can show you the things that bubby did when we let him play in the water. I have to write me a reminder somewhere though so I will remember. Getting old is a pain when you forget things all the time.

long nap

My boy is taking his usual long nap that we have to stay home for now and decide to do our errands later. This gives hubby time to mow the yard while here I am doing my tasks after a short nap. Hubby warned me he found a snake in the garden which he isn't sure of what kind so he is there trying to catch it or else there won't be playing in the backyard for me and bubby until the offending creature is captured. It has been a long time since I saw a snake and I don't really care much for them. I hope they will catch it and get it out of the yard.

Honestly I like this kind better than the still pictures. It is just like watching a commercial in television, it is colored and attractive. playtime at the beach

Just got home from the beach. Bubby had so much fun again. He tried to get other kids toys because we forgot to bring his beach toys with us. And there sure were a lot of toys similar to what he has so he probably thought the toys in question were his. The kids all reacted the same when bubby tried to get their toys, a combination of anger and fear. I had to say sorry to a lot of parents because bubby wouldn't quit. We got him away but he tried to go back. He thought that everything was just play and fun and that nobody will get mad at him if he plays with the toys. After all the toys were all scattered in the beach. When he got tired trying to get the toys he walked up to a couple of girls sunbathing and just looked and smiled. Hubby had to drag him away, lol.

temper tantrum

My son is enjoying the cellphone that hubby found at work. It is an old phone yet it still functions so we gave it to our boy for him to play so he will stop messing with mama's phone. He loves it. He plays with it most of the time, puts it in his ear and acts like he is talking to somebody. He had a phone last night and I thought it was the same old phone he used to play with so I left him alone. When I heard him giggle though I thought something wasn't right. In all his time playing with that old phone I haven't heard him react that way so I checked on him to see what caused the giggles and laughter that ensued. It turned out he had my phone and he was taking pictures using my phone's camera. The clicking sound was the reason for the happy giggles. He took eight pictures total of the computer table before I was able to get the phone because he wouldn't let it go. What followed next was a temper tantrum unlike any other that hubby who was outside came in to ask what was wrong with his boy. He mellowed down after a few minutes though and acted like nothing happened after he hit my jaw with his head consequently causing me to bite my tongue. The joy of motherhood eh? He throws unreal tantrums now when something doesn't suit him but I can't just let him do whatever he likes or we will have a monster. He knew he was on the wrong though and was good up until it was time for bed.

If there is one thing my son likes, it is to watch television shows. No, he doesn't stick to watching cartoons all day. I make it a point to tune in to a child friendly channel but he gets bored watching the same shows. He knows how to change channels and he does when he doesn't like what is on. You know what channels he likes to watch aside from cartoons? The sports channel and the real estate channel. I don't know what he likes in these channels. I don't like the sports channel because for one I don't like sports and two it is loud. He goes on playing and won't even glance at the television screen but it has to be on all the time with the volume on low. I try to turn it off and he will come running from where he was at and turns it back on. My boy sometimes acts like an old man that hubby laughs at him.

Well, I don't think we will go to the beach anymore. Hubby is resting in the couch and is fast asleep now. I know he is tired and I understand. We will just have to do some other day. messing with mama

My son is bored from playing alone that he is starting to mess with me. He turned off the router to the computer and when I made him get away from it he stomped his feet. Of course not to be deterred with that he came back to take my chair. I am now standing while doing this entry. No choice since if I try to get the chair back he will be back messing with me with a vengeance. This little man knows how to get attention but mama has to do something important online. Besides hubby will be home in a few minutes so they can go out in the backyard to play for a little bit. He is actually here and he wants to go to the beach. Gotta make this quick. I am trying to practice my boy to use utensils when he eats. I start out by giving him plastic spoons and forks and using paper plates (just in case he throws it in the floor it won't break). I think using the paper plates paid off. Now I can use real plates and he doesn't try to flip it over when I put food in it. The only problem now is he still tries to dump empty plates or sippy cup, even bottles and toys to the trash can when he is done using them. Will have to work on that next time. Have to stick to this first because he is not really good with spoon and fork yet. All else will have to come later.

driving his toy bike

My boy is into riding his toy bike again. Hubby bought him this toy a couple months back. Bubby used to play with the toy but not as much and he mostly played with the wheels more than getting in and riding it. Since yesterday though he has been on it several times which prompted dada to charge the toy so my boy can ride in it and enjoy. He is now in the living room driving his bike and slamming into everything. Good thing this toy is built for toddlers and is not really very heavy so the walls and furniture are safe. We might try to bring this out in the backyard later when hubby gets home so bubby will have more room to play.

walking

We went to the beach for our routine walk yesterday. I decided to ditch the stroller and just let bubby walk with us. Hubby was apprehensive because bubby is known to stray when we want him to walk with us. So I held his hand and guide him to where we were going and surprisingly my boy didn't complain nor stray. He walked with us for a good half mile and we are so proud of him. Just when we thought he will surely ruin the planned walk he didn't. He kept looking at the waves though and smiled like he had plans with them. When we stopped to rest he started playing and we let him. He got wet from running towards and then away from the waves and digging in the sand. We all had a pretty good time.

water baby

We let bubby play in the mini-pool last weekend. He had it all to himself and he was so happy. He likes to just splash water and does it even when I give him a bath in the tub. Hubby calls him his water baby. For some reason our little boy likes water. I know of at least one kid who dislikes to take a bath and screams her heart out when brought to the bathroom but it is never the case with my boy. Tell him it is bath time and he will run as fast as he could to the direction of the bathroom and wait until I open the door for him.

ravioli for breakfast

For some reason bubby refused to eat rice cereal for breakfast. He has been doing this for the last couple of days, taking just little at a time when I give him the food. I can't think of anything else I can give him because he won't eat eggs either so I decided to give him the spinach and cheese ravioli which he gobbled down eagerly. This food normally is either for lunch or dinner but I guess it will be for breakfast if that's what he wants. Sometimes it is hard to figure out what my boy wants. It is when trial and error comes to good use.

daddy's boy

When hubby gets home from work he lies down and put his feet up but most of the time bubby climbs up the couch with him and they end up either like this or bubby perched on his father's tummy. They like to play rough too and both love it. He likes to follow dada around and knows how to manipulate the latter to do as he wish. I told hubby not to give in to everything or he will have a very spoiled boy. We don't want that to happen. We love our boy so much but he has to know that there are limitations as to what we will give to him. He has to learn that early on for his own sake.

bed time

It is about bedtime for my little boy here and if I am lucky I think I may just be able to snag a few good deals. I will have to spend a little time with him before he sleeps so I won't be able to do anything else. But it is fine with me. I want to spend some time with him anyways just to play. I know he does too. Got to go for now. Mama will be back later.

trying

There are a lot of opportunities right now but I haven't finished any because I have to keep an eye on my boy. I check on him every time he gets too quite because that means he is engrossed with something he isn't supposed to be messing with. Good thing he is only playing with toys but he doesn't stay in one place and I hate to put him in the playpen. I will just grab the chance to write whenever I can.

My younger brother likes to listen to music. He even would leave the radio on when he sleeps. He thinks it is too quite when he doesn't hear anything playing. I loaned him my CD player so he will have something to use. But it is old and I am thinking he needs something new and sleek. So on his birthday I want to surprise him with an MP3 player. no-no-no

Bubby is practicing his no's. He started this last weekend. When I tell him to get down from being perched on the edge of the couch he would say no-no-no while sliding down. I guess I am still lucky he doesn't know yet what no means. It is funny for now. I don't know about later. Even when I change his diaper he would sputter the words. And instead of saying goodnight to dada before he sleeps he says bye-bye. I try to correct him but he continues to do it until he is in his bed. I should try to improve his vocabulary so it will be fun talking to him.

I cooked chopsuey earlier and that was what I had for breakfast. I gave a few carrot sticks to my boy and he nibbled on it until he ate it all up. I am quiet surprised since he normally doesn't eat anything new. I am getting him ready to get adjusted to regular food though. I will work on it until he gets used to eating cut up vegetables and fruits. He has to expand his choice of food for him to get all the nutrients he needs. We want him to be a healthy and active boy.

Last night I made bubby try something new for dinner. I have two packs of li'l entrees so I decided to fix one and gave it to him. It had green beans on it so I decided to give the beans first which he just looked at for some time before picking one and tasting. He decided he liked it and ate some more. I also gave him the turkey sticks which he only nibbled and then smashed to my dismay. He is still in the process of trying new food, some of which he likes while the others he throws on the floor. That is why I am giving him different kinds of food for variety. He can decide later on what he likes most to eat. When he gets older and get more teeth he won't be able to choose, mama will have to impose on healthy food for him. I know it will be a struggle but it is for his own good. It's okay though, I will give him the occasional burgers and fries and such. Let's hope I can do it :D

Bubby got to spend time in the backyard with us again. The fun part is we let him play in his mini pool and he loved it. Spent a long time splashing water everywhere and giggling while doing it. I got to water the plants while he was doing that while hubby put sticks and baskets for the tomatoes. When he got bored playing with the water though he started digging the garden and picked up dried leaves to put in his mouth that I had to bring him in without him complaining about it. He had enough it seemed. I am glad that we get to spend the day without having to rush and that my boys are doing fine.

Bubby's rashes is gone, totally healed up. I am so happy for my boy. He doesn't have to waddle when he walks anymore. He is back to his normal routine, climbing and running around as usual. But he is becoming more and more drawn to the wonders of the outside world, specifically the backyard. He stands by the kitchen door all the time waiting for it to miraculously open. Or maybe for either dada or mama to bring him outside to play. I am so glad my boy is doing fine health wise.

My boy's rashes is healing up good. He doesn't waddle anymore when he walks. I am so happy! That means we probably will be fine when we attend his brother's graduation tomorrow. I don't know how long it is going to last and I hope bubby will be a good boy. I am keeping my fingers crossed. I will update tomorrow how it will go. Luckily the venue is in the coliseum near our house. I am worried about hubby though because he is sick right now. I hope he will get better so he can attend his son's graduation.

noodle rings and chicken

Is now a big part of my boy's diet. It is just temporary though until his tummy is ready to shift back to his normal diet. I make him eat this certain food because it is soft and tastes good. It is hard to make him eat now but I know it has something to do with being sick for a while. But he is fine now and it won't be long and he will be back to normal. I will have my hands full again before long :)

I know he is just a kid and he wants to learn about the things around him but still what he's doing isn't safe for him. And for our sanity. Any ideas?

rashes

The after effect of a few days of fever coupled with diarrhea is awful for bubby. He has rashes in his butt which makes him whine and walk funny. I admire my boy for his attitude though. If it was me with rashes I will probably make every body's life miserable. But he only complains when he feels it is too much. I always check his diaper to make sure it is clean and change it if it isn't. I change his diaper probably 2-3 times in an hour. I just knew stocking on diapers will help a lot :) He seldom sits down so his butt won't rub with his diaper and when he is tired he lies on his tummy. My boy is smart ;) I just hope it will go away so he won't be uncomfortable anymore.

resting

My boy is back to his normal routine in taking naps. He is asleep right now and when I touch his head to check his temp he rolls over to try to get away from my cold hands :) He is still a little weak and likes to eat a lot trying to recover his strength. I only give him little portions of food though because I don't want his tummy to react badly if I give him too much all at once. I give him solid food and then milk in between. Thankfully he is taking it and keeping it in.

My boys have call it a night and are now in our room. One is sound asleep while the other is trying to find a comfortable spot at the same time willing himself to sleep. I will be off too in a few minutes. I just have to finish this entry. I am happy to tell everybody that my boy is feeling a lot better. He is still a little weak but back is the growling and emptying his toy box so he can use it to step on to reach the phone. I told hubby I will gladly clean up after my boy's mess as long as he is well and active. I hope tomorrow will be better for him and for me and hubby as well. Good night!

thinking ahead

Since our television set is old and had seen better days I thought about us buying a new television set. I told hubby it has to be high definition, for a change, and flat screen. And since we have a toddler who thinks that he can operate the television and do whatever he wants with it, we have to have a mount for the new television if ever we get one. It is still a matter of discussion right now, getting a new set, since we agreed that we will wait for the old one to retire (meaning for bubby to tear it up) before we will get a new one. Makes complete sense because why would we buy a new television set when the old one is still working right? But anyways, when we get ready to get a new set, we have to have a plasma mount to make sure bubby can't reach it. It has to be high up enough where he can't mess with it because if he can reach it he will try to figure out how it works. Living with a toddler, you got to think ahead.

For people who have weight problems it is sometimes helpful to use supplements to reduce weight. I have known a few people who are using diet pills and the result proved to be successful for them. Coupled with a good diet and a little exercise from time to time it should result to the desired weight. It is all just a matter of preference depending on the person.
